Terms of service

The terms of using Estela, written to be read, not filed away. If anything here clashes with what the product actually does, let me know — we'd rather fix the text than leave it out of date.

Who offers this

Estela (getestela.dev) is offered by Zaisor Technology LLC. By creating an account or installing the CLI, you accept these terms and the privacy policy, which is part of them. For any question, write to jdaniel.leonruiz@gmail.com.

Your account

You need a valid email you have access to — it's the only way in, there are no passwords. You're responsible for what happens with your account and for keeping your email accessible. We can disable an account that breaches these terms or that's used to harm the service or other people; if that happens, we'll explain why by email.

Plans and pricing

Free runs entirely on your machine, no account required and no time limit. Pro and Teams are paid, at the price shown on the pricing page at the moment you sign up. Teams includes a 14-day trial with a card on file but no charge until it ends; that trial is granted once per account.

We may change prices going forward. If you already have an active subscription, the change doesn't affect you until your next renewal, and we'll give you reasonable notice before it happens.

Payment and cancellation

Stripe processes payment; we never see or store your card. Pro and Teams renew automatically every month or year, depending on the cycle you choose, until you cancel. Cancelling is done from the Stripe portal (linked from your billing panel) and stops the next renewal — there's no refund for the current period already charged, unless applicable law gives you that right.

When you cancel or a charge fails, your account drops back to the Free plan: your team projects stay in your account as they are, but invited people can no longer sync hours until you're back on Teams.

If you use Teams

Teams is billed per measured person, not per project: projects are unlimited and adding one more doesn't raise the price. We count distinct people who have accepted an invitation, so someone on several projects is paid for once. Teams is billed from a three-person minimum, even if fewer are measured. You're responsible for who you invite: each invitation is a real person whose work is measured, and that person decides for themselves whether to share their AI cost.

Acceptable use

Don't use Estela for illegal activity, to invade third parties' privacy beyond what the product itself already covers (measuring the hours of someone who agreed to be measured), or to try to bypass its technical protections — including the check for which repository a team project actually belongs to.

Your data stays yours

The code, the commits, and the work Estela measures are yours, not ours. We detail exactly what we store and what we don't in the privacy policy — in short: never the content of your code or your prompts, only metadata (hours, branches, commit hashes).

Service availability

We run daily backups, but that doesn't replace having your own version control — the Free plan already runs on your machine precisely for that reason. We don't guarantee the service will be available without interruption; if something goes down, telling you comes first, not pretending it didn't happen.

Limitation of liability

Estela is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by applicable law, Zaisor Technology LLC is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, or data loss not covered by our own backups. Nothing here limits liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, or any right the law grants you that can't be waived by contract.

Changes to these terms

If they change in a meaningful way, you'll see it here with the date updated. Continuing to use Estela after a significant change means you accept it; if you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription whenever you want.
